The 'Choose a Template' dialog box contains a list of included poster templates. It contains three sections: category list, templates and a preview.

Select the 'Funny' category and find 'Magazine Cover' templates. You can choose any of the three templates, we choose the second.

In the preview sections of the selected poster template you can see magazine poster in larger size together with information about its size and expansion.

2. Redesign poster template

If you want to create an original poster from scratch, first of all you should replace the background by inserting a photo or image that you prefer.

Click the 'Load' button in the 'Background' section of the 'Properties' window of Poster Maker. A standard Windows 'Open an Image' dialog box will open. Choose the desired image on your computer and click 'Open' button. The image will be automatically adjusted and cropped to the size of the poster template.

To insert a picture or photo into your magazine cover, click the 'Image' or 'Clipart' item in the 'Insert' menu or on the 'Objects' toolbar of Poster Maker.

After we have replaced the background and pasted our required photo, the magazine cover will take the following form:

Since the title of the magazine cover and all the inscriptions do not match the necessary topic we can rewrite them. In the process of changing the name, size and style of the font, choose the desired color, alignment and placement in the created poster.

To add other text objects, click the 'Text' in the 'Insert' menu or on the 'Objects' toolbar. You can also add text objects with irregular shapes (Arc, Circle, Projective, Wave).

If you want to make your cover look like a real magazine cover, choose an apt name and add a few phrases according to your theme.

If some inscriptions merge with the background of the poster, they should be placed on geometric objects. They can also be customized to the overall magazine cover design. Change the color, font, size and style of every word or object. In addition, you can add other effects such as opacity, gradient and outline. Here you need a little bit of imagination and creativity.

Inserting geometric shapes make your poster more realistic and interesting. With poster designer software you can add lines, rectangles and ellipses. You can also use 'pencil' for free drawing.
