Grouping objects

Several document objects can be combined together and treated as a single object. This special object is named the Group.

The following commands are available for this purpose:

  • Group : to group objects. More than one object is to be selected before applying the command.
  • Ungroup : to ungroup the Group. A Group is to be selected before applying the command.

The commands can be found in the Layers menu, in the Popup menu, or on the Layers toolbar.

Note: Only properties of the Group object may be changed in the Properties Editor. You cannot edit properties of individual objects belonging to a Group (such as color) without ungrouping them.

Tip: To find out whether a selected object is a Group, have a look at the Group item on the Layers toolbar. If it is enabled, the selected object is a Group.
