Using design aids

Design aid tools make your manual operations with placing objects more precise.

The following design aid tools are available:

Snap grid

The snap grid is a matrix of dots or lines covering the document area. When you create or resize an object with the Snap to Grid option active, the mouse cursor will be "magnetized" to grid points (line intersections) to help you build objects with accuracy. See Customizing the application for more info about how to customize the grid options.

Rulers

Rulers are used for measuring. They help to determine the size of document objects, their positions and distance between them. The zero point of the horizontal ruler corresponds to the most left point of the document, and the vertical ruler to the most right point. See Customizing the application for more info about how to change measurement units.

Cursor coordinates

Current cursor coordinates are displayed in the second pane of the statusbar. See Customizing the application for more info about how to change measurement units.
